I want to have https://subdomain1.mydomain.com and https://subdomains2.mydomain.com. Do I need to place 2 different orders? Or can I use one SSL certificate for mydomain.com?

If it is two different domains secure.mydomain.com and secure1.mydomain.com then yes you need two certs as they only work with the domain name that is registered to the cert.

You can buy a wildcard certificate

A Wildcard certificate would be able to cover both the domain and the sub. We are not currently offering the Wildcard cert's, although I know that this is one of the products that we are looking into offering in the future. I do not at this time have and ETA, for when this may be available. If enough of you are interested please let us know and maybe we can get approval faster.
