I need to set up a reseller account to go with Client exec. Resellone seems to have the best prices, but the forum is full of complaints about service. Has it improved? Advice please.

Go to any forum and you will find detractors. Resellone is no exception. While we do have our detractors, we also have a staff that monitors this forum looking for complaints and problems that need to be dealt with. We have multiple means of contacting us should a problem arise, email, a chat system, an optional ticketing system that can be requested and phones. I myself give out my personal email address on a regular basis as well as my phone number.
I'm never going to say that the system is perfect, that its done. There are flaws that pop up from time to time but these are things that we work to over come. So to answer your question should you join? My answer is yes. We have a staff that is dedicated to making sure the job gets done, a staff who has taken a personal interest in the success of the Resellone reseller project and a staff that actively looks for ways to solve problems.
No doubt there will be detractors that will take issue with what I am saying. There is even one guy that I can pretty much assure you will tell you no, don't sign up with Resellone, go with a more expensive service, but even he still maintains his account, deposits money almost every month and still uses our system.
If you want to get a hold of me directly you can contact me my email or phone.

Guess I will add a little to this seeing how only eddieP has replied.
If you are looking to sell domain names and SSL certs then ReSellOne is the place for you if you remember a couple of simple things.
1. This is the most important step; never let your funds get so low that you can’t order/renew your services.
Waiting till the last minute to add funds to your account when you are down to your last $10 is just not smart. At times it could take a couple of days to get the funds added to your account due to issues with your credit card, overseas banking account, or just issues with the payment page or faxes. Try and make any such payments on a week day between the hours of 9:00am and 1:00pm (CST) Monday thru Friday this will allow you the time to contact RS1 (ReSellOne) over the phone if there are any issues (always ask for Eddie Powell I know for a fact he will return your calls and emails).
2. The API and End User platform is really cool but very simple. It does not have all the bells and whistles that some others have but then the cost is a lot lower then the others.
The OpenSRS scripts that are free and widely used around the net, they work great once you get them set up. You can easily integrate them into your site design with a little knowledge of HTML and Perl.
Now they do have an end user system set up for the management of your domain names (https://resellers.resellone.net/manage/index) but it is very generic and can’t be branded with your own logo or anything like that so I do suggest setting up the OpenSRS scripts for your clients.
3. SSL certificates take some effort on your part to sell.
I have yet to find any automated billing system that will order your SSL certificates automatically. But once again the OpenSRS scripts can do this it just won’t take payments so you have to plan how you are going to achieve this. It really isn’t that hard to do just need to plan for it.
4. Web Site Builder is no longer supported, RS1 claims it is no longer available but I still see it in the reseller’s RW2 and have used it a couple of times.
I kind of hope they keep it and just not offer support. The builder is not often used from what I have read and is no longer maintained but from the experience I have with it, it still works rather well.
5. Managed DNS system, I would say this is still in beta form.
It is not real reliable so to base your business around it might leave you a little short on what you offer your clients. When it works it works very well but when there is an issue with it, it seems to take a long time for those issues to be fixed. The Managed DNS is controlled and ran by Tucows which seem to have placed it on low priority so do not expect it to work all the time with out issues.
But over all I have to say that RS1 is becoming a very good place to do business with I have seen great improvement over the last year with issues that came about some have taken awhile to get worked out but there are steps going in the right direction.
So if you can work around these small issues that are still here then yes RS1 is the right place for you, the price is right and support/service is getting better every day.
Oh and BTW I am one of RS1’s biggest critics so you can take everything I say here as fact I am not one that raises a pom pom and cheers how great they are but I will give them the credit they deserve as well as the criticism when things are not going right.
