Turning on image verification (captcha) would at least help reduce the spam.

Adding a simple domain-related question to the registration process would help too. Or something else that the signup bots would choke on.

You know, I often wonder if anybody actually pays any attention to forum spam. I mean I know that it's all done for SEO reasons but does anyone actually use the links?
