I've got a couple of clients who bought SSL certs through the EV1Servers site before ResellOne was launched... one of them got this message today:

RE: QuickSSL Certificate Expiration Reminder for (removed)

NOTE: This email was automatically generated from a non-response mailbox.

For Support, FAQs and other information, please go to http://www.geotrust.com/support/index.aspI've got to say, this bugs the heck out of me. And since we know ResellOne is running the SSL orders through the same account, the question is - are the certs I've ordered through ResellOne going to get the same renewal spam 90 days before expiration that my EV1 certs are?

What's really bad is if you follow those renewal links... you get GeoTrust's retail pricing, which is outrageous (by design). Sure, none of my customers will pay it... but there's just as good a chance for them to think that IS my pricing and they're going to go elsewhere thinking I'm trying to screw them on a renewal.

Can ResellOne answer this question? Wiil our customers receive these emails from Geotrust?

I just got the following email today for the SSL cert that I got as part of my ResellOne.net signup. Obviously I agree that this is somewhat undesirable for customers to be asked by geotrust to renew their certs directly at http://www.geotrust.com/renew/index.asp thus bypassing us as the resellers 90 days prior to renewal.

I just e-mailed a link to this forum post to the support and manager addresses... I get the distinct idea that nobody's checking the forum any more.

This is getting to the point of being beyond absurd. If Tucows can get this right, why can't R1?

Hello,

I'm sure that message can be changed, but it may take a little time. When changed, I will construct the message to have your customers see their vendor for renewals. That should take care of the issue. Please feel free to post with suggestions for what the message should say.

Also, I will be starting a new thread asking for suggestions on what our customers would like to see from ResellOne. I've been listening, and I know that supporting the API is probably number one on that list. We are working on it. I appreciate and applaud your loyalty to us. We are looking to reciprocate.

Thank you,

Aamir,

Any updates on this?? I have *another* customer who just got a renewal alert, directing them to http://www.ev1servers.net/english/starterssldetails.asp to renew. Mind you, this was NOT a cert purchased from EV1, it was a cert purchased through my ResellOne account.

Yeah some of the spam emails that are added to Reseller one are getting to be a bit of a problem ......... as for EV1/Reseller1 responding I doubt that we will hear anything at all from them.......

We have all sunk a lot of money and time in this and now that the sale out has came about the services and support continue to go down hill

Come on, ResellOne! This has been promised for months! Not one step has been taken to remedy the issue. I honestly believe that ResellOne does does give a crap about the issue, or us. Otherwise it would have been fixed by now!

My account here was purchased only for ssl certs. It has sat unused for many months because the branding is screwed up in the ordering and renewal process. Completely useless service for ssl certificates. :( :( :(

I plan to ask for a full refund of my membership fee. The service that was sold to me has been totally misrepresented.
