Hi,
Is there any timeframe set by icann rules for the losing registrar to send confirmation e-mail to the registrant/owner of a domain when transferring the domain out?
I am asking this because I found out that the registrant should approve/deny the request in 7 days but some registrars are sending these e-mails only after 6-7 days since the transfer request has been accepted by the owner using the auth-code and confirmation e-mail sent from resellone.
This is causing extreme delays in transfers into resellone. If there is some guidelines about this, can anybody point out the URL where I can read more about them?
Thanks
Evren

Policy on ICANN's site (http://www.icann.org/transfers/policy-12jul04.htm)
See section 3A. There is no requirement for the losing registrar to send a confirmation message of any kind... it's their option to do so. And, come to find out, the policy says 5 days. I'm a bit surprised that isn't controlled at the registry level... auto-acking after 5 days should be pretty easy to pull off.
<offtopic> Now if only ResellOne would refresh themselves on the rules in section 2.1... particularly who can authorize a transfer... </offtopic>

It also says:
The FOA should be sent by the Registrar of Record to the Transfer Contact as soon as operationally possible, but must be sent not later than twenty-four (24) hours after receiving the transfer request from the Registry Operator.
So it should take at most 2 days, right? The thing is, when I have the FOA, I can accept the transfer and it takes 2 days to complete, if I dont have it it takes 5-7 days to complete That is a big difference. I have this problem that the current registrar is claiming that they sent the e-mail. But we never received it. It is quite suspicious as those e-mails are the only ones that are getting lost and we cant receive! I transfer 10 domains and receive 2 transfer-out notifications from the losing registrar. This can not be a coincedence. Any tips on how should I deal with this registrar?
I think this is quite convenient for the losing registrar to create a crappy mail server which loses mails but their system shows that the e-mail is sent, so they can delay transfers 5-7 days just that people will know that if they try to transfer-out the domains from this registrar they will have problems unless they started transfers 2 weeks ago which most people do not do, so people are forced to just renew the domain in the losing registrar before transferring or just let it be there.
Isnt there anything can be done about this?

I already got over that problem. We setting the same e-mail on both sides just to be sure as at least 1 time from 10 transfers they put the e-mail from the whois of losing registrar so I dont want to take chances on this. :)
