Hi,

ResellOne is advertising their prices on their web site. This is causing troubles where our customers who have 10 domains want to buy domains directly from ResellOne. This increases the load of ResellOne support where we are losing money and customers. Why should we continue using ResellOne if they are stealing our customers? There is a certain fact that not even all the e-mails can be customized. So our clients might find resellone and see the prices.

OpenSRS doesnt advertise their prices to public. This is how it should be. This is better for us the resellers and better for ResellOne that they are not bothered with people with a handful of domains. ResellOne should concentrate on customers with 100+ domains more. But as long as ResellOne shows $6.49 registration price on their web site. They will be found by people who are looking for cheapest prices for registering 10 domains.

I say that ResellOne should remove the prices from their web pages. Dont you agree? I am tired of people telling why I sell them domain name for $7.95 because I buy for $6.49 and I can give it for $6.95 and make profit even. :( this is not nice!

Thanks,
Evren

Are you sure this is happening?

Theres the $99 setup fee, or $1000 deposit.
Not to mention the slow and over-complicated signup process, signing/faxing forms etc.

So this keeps most people with only a few domains out.

That being said, its a really bad idea for resellone.net to be named in the whois.
An i know for a fact it is possible for resellone to change this, because directi did it.

There is no reason that a domain name needs to be listed as the registrar name.
They could have just used "Everyones Internet" with no domain.

ie. it should not be possible to do a whois query on a domain and find our about resellone.net.

They could also use some other domain with a landing page, which just has info about their registry but no way to register any domains or pricing details.

Yes I am sure. Maybe not for 10 domains but when one has 20 domains the setup fee translates to $5/domain year which makes about $11/year for the first year, 2nd year of course comes to $6.49... Most companies keep their domains many years so.

If you have 30 domains it comes about $3.3 per domain where you actually can buy domains cheaper than OpenSRS resellers. (OpenSRS sells com/net/org for $10).

My resellers have 20+ domains. How am I suppose to keep them as my customer when they know that they can get prices cheaper? As you told, they can see resellone mentioned in whois even.

I have over 500 domains now with resellone and we transfer/register 5-10 domains a week usually. I would prefer resellone to be able to give more attention to customers with 100+ domains and growing instead of dealing with people who have 20-30 domains.

Now I send e-mail to resellone support and they dont even answer. I presume because they are so busy with teaching how to use RWI to people with 20-30 domains. This is waste of everybody's time.

Thanks,
Evren

PS. By the way, it is funny that resellone employees vote to show the prices online at their web page as they have to do more work in the end for less money.

Yeah, it sucks. But its normal, they need to get more resellers. We also advertise our products.

If someone has 10 hosting acocunt they can get a server. Will you ask your DC to remove they're information from the Ripe?

You pay much more for a server. It is usually more profitable to buy this service from a hoster. Plus, once you have a server, if you use a control panel software, there comes lots of licensing fees, you must administer the server etc.

You cant compare renting servers with paying one time $100 and clicking a link to register a domain name. There is nothing to maintain, upgrade, fix security holes etc. People know that they can do this without further investments!

Other respectable domain registrars are not advertising their prices, this is how it works in domain registration business. Only crappy registrars are advertising their prices :)

Evren

PS. (by the way I am the DC :p)
