I have for 3 years been buying annual certs from ev1, previously this has always gone without problem and I have had them setup within hour from order including configuration making the ssl keys etc.

Today I ordered again from ev1's website and got taken to theplanet as they now the same company. Paid with credit card, my browser blocked a popup at the end of the order and I waited for the email.

Initially I thought the order didnt go through because of the popped blockup but my credit card company has confirmed payment has been processed, so I goto theplanet live chat who tell me to email ssl@theplanet.com, after 6 hours of waiting I give them a call and get directed to this website. Upon reaching this website I see live chat is closed for maintenance so I send them a message via the contact form and now another 3 hours later there is no response, what is going on here are these now a cowboy outfit?

Any other similiar experiences and advice for me please? thanks.

I am not an EV1 customer but it might be that your order has to be confirmed manually or something. I only ordered few ssl certificates thru resellone (I am guessing that ev1 uses the same services) and it merely took minutes to complete. For example they do a phone callback verification(at least I had that), I think that if your phone number was entered wrongly or couldnt be parsed by the system, it could have caused this problem?

I know that this is boring to hear but if you have any kind of antispam etc. working on your mail server or e-mail program, the email might be deleted or went into your junk folder...so be sure to check them if you didnt.

I'm having exactly the same problem at the moment. (at the end of the order page, IE7 blocked a popup. but money has gone from my bank account. no email about order.)

I too emailed both ssl@theplanet and resellone. and waiting for reply.

maybe I shouldn't have upgraded my browser to IE7.:(
(I didn't have this problem before when I was using IE6)

Why blame IE7 for a TP problem? Most everyone has a popup blocker, and has for years..
